Resident Evil 4, 5, and 6 veered primarily toward action with the occasional scary moment, except for a pretty good graphical upgrade. The game already looked great on the Xbox 360, and the Resident evil 5 and 6 are fully playable story co-op. Resident evil 3 remake has a co-op mode but it's separate from the main story. Ive beaten every main resident evil game, and ive loved all of them, including 6, they are great games. Its just that some of those games have nothing to do with each other, and have different themes, clear example being this one. The first resident evil games are damn good survival horror games, the 6th one is a damn good dumb action game.
Yea Resident Evil got more action oriented as the series moved forward but RE 5 and 6 took it to a level of complete stupidity. They were so action oriented that they become unenyojable in my opinion. Resident Evil 3 had a good balance between horror and action, especially the original. RE 4 had a lot too but at least it was a very well paced game.

It’s fantastic. It has the old school style controls which some people don’t like, but the static environments, music and atmosphere is the truest form of what resident evil IS. Zero is also very good, and similar in style. Imo resident evil 4 is a fine game, but the claims that it is the omfg the best RE EVER!!! are just ridiculous.
